Privacy notice
How Pear Tree Garage uses the information you give us.
Who we are
Pear Tree Garage is a trading name of LJB Motors (South East) Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 15420503. Registered office: 66 Hammonds Drive, Eastbourne, BN23 6PW. Pear Tree is part of the LJB Lee Botting group. If you have any questions about this notice, email info@peartreegarage.com or call 01323 315609.
What we collect
When you book a vehicle in, open a trade account or send an enquiry, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, phone number, email address, vehicle registration, make, model and mileage, and any notes about the work needed.
MOT reminders
If you sign up for a free MOT reminder, we keep your vehicle registration and your email address. We use the registration to look up your MOT date in the DVSA's MOT records, and the email address to send you a reminder before it runs out. We don't use them for anything else.
We keep these details until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any reminder email, or until the vehicle has gone a year without a valid MOT, when we delete them automatically.
Why we use it
- To arrange and carry out work on your vehicle, and to contact you about it
- To keep records of the work we've done, including for warranty and legal purposes
- To answer enquiries and set up trade accounts
We use your details because we need them to provide the service you've asked for, or because we have a legitimate interest in running the business. We don't sell your details, and we'll only send you marketing if you've agreed to it.
Who we share it with
Only with companies that help us run the website and our business, and only as much as they need:
- Netlify, which hosts this website and delivers the forms you send to us
- Our email provider, so the garage receives your booking or enquiry
- An email delivery service, which sends MOT reminders on our behalf
- The DVSA, whose MOT records we check using your registration number
How long we keep it
We keep booking and job records only for as long as we need them, in line with UK GDPR. Invoices and the job records behind them are kept for as long as the law requires for our accounts and tax, which is usually six years. After that they're deleted.
Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies for analytics or advertising, so there's nothing to agree to. It only keeps what it needs to work while you're using it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
